What is Charm School?
Charm School encompasses a series of educational resources for newly engaged couples, including e-courses, in-person workshops and mini sessions, and other add-ons and alternatives to traditional wedding planning.
This first e-course, Charm School: Extra Credit, FREE 7 Days of Expert Wedding Planning Tips & Advice, is a completely free resource offered by Simply Charming Socials to guide couples through some of the most frequently asked questions we get during the wedding planning process. What started as an in-person workshop back in 2014 has transformed into an email course available to couples everywhere! The email course is a 7 day no-nonsense guide to wedding planning. Each email is composed of a different lesson - from guest list to registry list, we share expert advice with real-life examples.
What will I learn?
Charm School: Extra Credit, FREE 7 Days of Expert Wedding Planning Tips & Advice is composed of 7 lessons. In each lesson, we will share expert advice, little anecdotes and tidbits, helpful checklists and printables, and a whole lot of the best no-nonsense wedding planning tips you’ll find.
Lesson 01 | The Big Announcement
In the first lesson, we share the etiquette of engagement and best practices for sharing the big news with your loved ones. We’ll touch on sending save-the-dates, proposing to your wedding party, and where to begin in the wedding planning process!
Lesson 02 | A Time & A Place
With so many venue options out there, especially here in Georgia, we wanted to cut through the clutter and share our best tips for finding the perfect place to say ‘I do’. In this lesson, you’ll find a list of important-to-ask questions when searching or working with your wedding venue. Plus, we name some top blooms per season, from one of our favorite floral designers.
Lesson 03 | The A List
In Lesson 03, we help you find that ideal guest count, give you tips on how to use the list to your advantage, and talk to you about the etiquette of invitation.
Lesson 04 | Let it Register
From the second that ring hits your finger, you’re likely showered with well wishes, questions, and, quite possibly, gifts. In Lesson 04, we talk about the Modern Wedding Registry and all the other alternatives that you may or may not have yet discovered.
Lesson 05 | The Budget Talk
Nobody wants to talk about money, but the truth is, it’s necessary and freeing and can set a clear foundation for all planning to come. In Lesson 05, we share some general guidelines on how to spend those wedding dollars, plus helpful tips on how to nail down that overall budget range, save money here and there, and prioritize based on wants vs. needs.
Lesson 06 | Mark Your Calendar
Lesson 06 gives you tips and advice on how to fit wedding planning into your busy life. We help you mark your calendar for the important moments, suggest ways to sneak in your Pinterest & wine nights, and offer you our secret to stay on track so you don’t get crazed at the very end.
Lesson 07 | Set the Mood
In Lesson 07, we’ll focus on wedding design. From interpreting the inspo to sourcing the decor to putting a personalized touch on the final product, we share the principles you need to design your wedding practically and purposefully.
